Response Dynamics uses state of the art instrumentation to perform site evaluations in preparation for the installation of acoustically sensitive equipment, or for human or animal comfort. The site evaluation measurements often involve making floor vibration, stray magnetic field and acoustic noise measurements to be compared with allowable limit given by manufacturer or facility specifications or compared with standards. (see Site Testing & Analysis for more details)
The acoustic characterization of a space is often the 1st step in addressing an issue. As part of a characterization we also employ techniques for measuring the frequency content of background noise, sources , the time domain waveform, reverberation time, and absorption, are acoustic attributes that affect the way we feel about a space and how well it works for a given purpose.
We use several types of advance acoustic monitoring systems that collect data in standard formats for hours, days, or weeks, for use in comparing with product specifications, city noise ordinances, etc. We also have have developed a very unique state of the art monitoring system, called the VMS1 Monitoring System to be used in many situations where a very thorough analysis of the environment is required. Using the VMS1 to monitor vibration, acoustics noise, or any signal, we can dig much deeper in to the data and assist in identifying sources, capturing and trending transient events in the time and frequency domain in a variety of formats, performing a selection of very useful statistical analysis, seting alarms based on waveform or spectral shape and time between occurance, and be operated remotely. There is nothing like this system anywhere in the world today.
There are many standards for evaluating acoustic noise that vary with industry or regulating agency. We perform tests to verify compliance with these standards.
